Long Service Levy

The Long Service Corporation administers a scheme which provides a portable long service benefit for eligible workers in the building and construction industry in NSW.

The scheme allows eligible workers in the industry to work for different employers or as contractors and qualify for a long service benefit that is paid for by a levy on building and construction work in NSW. The levy is collected by the Corporation and its agents and is invested in accordance with NSW Treasury requirements until required to fund long service payments

The obligation to make payment comes when you make an application for a Complying Development Application (CDC) or Construction Certificate Application (CC) to either Local Council or a Private Certifier. The fee comes into effect for any building or construction works valued at $250,000 or more and is payable by the person for whom the work is being performed.

The current value of the levy rate is 0.25% of the building or construction project, only where the build is $250,000 or higher (Inclusive of GST).

Payment can be made online via your MySeviceNSW account.  You will need the Development Consent number or Complying Development number to include in your application to pay via the above link.  Once payment is made a receipt will be generated and can be emailed instantly ready for you to lodge with your application.
